Hi Peter,
OK. Bobbi threw down the gauntlet for the deadest day of Fall migration; and we're picking it up to compete!
In fact, we did have a great group, and no rain, and a nice, blustery day (with gale-force winds in the trees, sometimes....) but not a lot of birds in the park.
That being said, we did have a couple of good ones including Winter Wren, Common Raven, several hummingbirds at the midwood touch-me-not spot, and 9 species of warblers.
Sadly, on the way out we found one tree with at least 9 lanternflies. We were able to kill several but some were high up on the tree.
Sara (new birder with super spotting skills) is sending me a GPS location for the tree and I'll forward it to Christian at PPA.
Here's the list.
Best regards,
Tom

Hi Peter,The rains held off and we had a pleasant, if not super birdy, day. That being said, we had 15 species of warblers including Wilson's, Palm, Blackpoll, a cooperative Philadelphia Vireo, Olive-sided Flycatcher and our new regular, Solitary Sandpiper, in the Rose-Garden "pool".Thanks very much to Ryan for co-leading, as we had close to 40 people. (And let us know if I missed anything you had with your group.)Here's the list.Best regards,Tom
