Thursday Walk Fall series August 15th

Leader Rob Bate ( subbing for Tom Stephenson)

Rob Bate BBC walk :

Migration is underway.  Nine of us ventured out on the inaugural fall 2013 Thursday morning walk starting from Grand Army Plaza.  It was slow at first but we hit paydirt with a Louisianna Waterthrush in the horse trail puddle by Rick's Place.  There was good activity for the rest of our walk puncuated by periodic lulls in the action.  Good warbler activity with lots of Redstarts and Black and White Warblers.  Good looks at a couple of Canada Warblers as well as the Yellow-throated Vireo at the base of the road to Lookout Hill.  Also of note was a flock of Semipalmated Sandpipers flying above the Lullwater on their way to more suitable habitat.
