Tuesday Prospect Park Walks Sept 17th

BBC Tuesday Walk

leading : Bobbi Manian

Hi Peter,

we had 12 people on today's walk.  It was a great group with everyone spotting birds, making my first time out as a walk leader very easy!  The morning was cooler than expected (a few people were lamenting lack of gloves) but as the day warmed up the birds came out!  The peninsula and the area around 3 sisters were particularly active.  At times we had to walk away from dozens of warblers just to get on to the next location.  Phil Hore renamed the Thumb to Warbler Thumb!

Altogether, we had 64 species and 18 warblers over a 7 1/2 hour day.  Only fatigue sent us home at last - the warblers were still begging to be looked at down by West Island as the final two birders standing departed the park.

Best,
Bobbi
