September 8th Prospect Park

From leader Tom Stephenson,

We had a very good group today of over 20 folks

Bird activity was spotty, but we had 59 species with a few special sightings. The 14 species of warblers included a Mourning near Rick's place along with 2 Wilson's showing well there and one other on the peninsula.
Of the 3 species of flycatchers, Least was well seen.
Of the 4 species of vireo, Philadelphia showed itself very well near MD monument.
No sign of or reports of the Conwar...
Thanks to Dennis's sharp eyes we had a perched Common Nighthawk in the open also near Rick's place.
All in all a very pleasant day.

Best regards,
Tom
