4 of us had a productive, blustery day on Jones Beach and the Inlet on Saturday.  We had a good assortment of shorebirds on the Coast Guard station sandbar, with some BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and DUNLINS comfortable enough to lounge on the field. On our walk out to end of the West End we had a large flock (flurry?) of SNOW BUNTINGS and all three expected species of scoter on the water. No diving ducks at the jetty or Pt Lookout, unfortunately.  Despite the leader losing half his vision when a gust blew away a dislodged contact lens, we spotted more waterfowl and herons at the reliable Cammann's Pond in Merrick.

Lists:

Big thanks to Bob for pulling double duty of handling the registration And driving!  Thanks all for a very enjoyable day.

Mike
