Hi Peter,
We had a really fun day today out at Jamaica Bay. There turned out to be 10 of us in total including some enthusiatic newcomers, so enthusiastic that they got a speeding ticket from "the man" on the way into the parking lot, from not wanting to miss the start of a BBC walk we speculated.
It wasn't very birdy but we did get a very good sampling of ducks including 4 nice male canvasbacks on the east pond as well as some redheads. 13 duck species in total. List below. Charles, please send us a couple pics when you get a chance.
Thanks everyone for participating and thank you Bob, Ryan and Marc for driving.
