Subject: Jamaica Bay walk

Hi Peter,

Hope you're having a great weekend.

We had a really fun walk today, with an extended time on the East side of the East pond; then, some time in the visitor's center, missing the rain; and then a little time baking in the heat out on the West Pond, which was very high and without many nearby shorebirds.
Highlights included 10+ Stilt Sandpipers, Short-billed Dowitchers and...1 Long-billed...a few White-rumped Sandpipers, Least, Semipalmated Sand and Plov; both yellowlegs and both Night-herons, the Yellow-crowned thanks to Elijah.

All in all it was a very good day, especially considering it's still early in the season.
Dennis and I talked about doing one or two later, maybe first and second weekends of Sept.

Here's the list.

Best regards,
Tom
