Subject: Brooklyn Bird Club: Prospect Park, Brooklyn, Mar 8, 2015

Today I led a walk at the Park for the Brooklyn Bird Club.  The park had its grounds covered by snow turned ice.  Upper & lower pools frozen, and so most of the lake, except for a little section.
The feeders were the most active spot during the walk.  The most interesting bird sps at the feeders was a male European Goldfinch.  Also there we saw Juncos, Fox Sparrows, 2 sps of Nuthatches, Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbirds.
The Common Redpoll was seen early, around 0740 hrs by A. Ratay.  With the group we did not have such luck, but later was seen briefly.
Eight people participated in the walk
