Coney Island Region January 7th

Here is the list from Saturday's trip to Coney Island. While the weather felt more like early-Spring than early-January, we still managed to see most of the expected winter coastal species. Highlights include dozens of NORTHERN GANNET diving for fish offshore, a pair of PURPLE SANDPIPER on the western-most jetty, a first year LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL on the sand spit at Coney Island Creek and a single SNOW GOOSE in the creek behind Mark Twain Junior High School:
