Great to have 10 intrepid birders on our first Wednesday of the season despite the chill and strong winds.
Just one warbler, a Palm, for the day, but a nice mix of sparrows on the lawns. A first of season Black-crowned Night Heron perched over the Long Pond, where up to two dozen roost later in the summer.
On Pier 3 we heard a Rusty Blackbird sing its gurgle-whistle song, and spotted it with the Common Grackles.
Looking forward to a plentiful spring!
