3 species to add to the list I forgot:
Bald Eagle (one flew in and landed on the mud)
Marsh Wren
House Finch
I'm happy to report that the trip to Jamaica Bay yielded a good number of shorebirds and some other species. It was a bit dicey walking around Dead Man's Cove but otherwise the water levels were fine and there was a reasonably good selection of species. Nothing rare but at least good views of almost everything we had.
Highlights includedLots of Juv Short-billed DowitchersSeveral Stilt SandpipersSeveral White-rumped SandpipersJuv and adult Semipalmated and Least SandpipersNice fly-bys of Yellow-crowned NIght-heronA snout butterfly (thanks to Tom and Gail)A sand wasp covering over a hole it had dug in the sand.
Below is the list and attached a few photos.
