Jamaica Bay wildlife refuge August 21st

Leader Tom Stephenson
Ten Brooklyn birders enjoyed a beautiful day of shore-birding at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Thanks to Tom Stephenson for leading a great trip for the BBC!  Highlights included great close-up looks at Stilt Sandpipers, Pectoral and a Red Knot, and plenty of the usual suspects. (Full species list TK later.)

Hi Peter,

Yes, a fun day. Not lots of unusual birds but 14 species of shorebirds and lots of other stuff.

Here's the list of the species I remember of the 49 species we saw. Others may be able to fill in anything I missed.

Best regards,

Tom
