Tuesday Prospect Walk

Leading : Bobbi Manian

Hi Peter,

Rob must have had psychic insight into today's cold/wind/lack of birds when he asked me to sub for him this week!  Today was stark contrast to yesterday, but 5 hearty souls persevered for over 5 hours.  We lost a few on the way and gained a few along the way.  Big THANK YOU to Bob O'Neil and Bambi for lending extra layers to those of us who were unprepared.  Also thank you to Shane Blodgett for calling Bob to tell us about a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron that was being seen today in the park and waiting for us to backtrack from the Peninsula.

Best,
Bobbi

Brooklyn Bridge Park to Red Hook April 19th

Thanks for a fun morning on the Brooklyn waterfront Mike!  Here's a closeup of the Red Necked Grebe that was maybe 20 feet away from us.Photo by Bobbi Manian

Leader Mike Yuan

Great easy day with great company.  Some light southerly winds on Friday night got us hopeful for some migrants, but we struck out on passerines.  As weren't sure when we'd see a RN grebe again, we "soaked them in."

Thanks,
-Mike
